Chinese Food Delivery in Rockville, MD: How It Works at China Jade

China Jade delivers across Rockville through the major food apps and direct orders. Here's the coverage, the dishes that travel well, and how to order so your food arrives at its best.

China Jade delivers Chinese food across Rockville and the surrounding Montgomery County area. You can order through the major food delivery apps or place a direct order for pickup. We cook every order to the same standard whether you eat it at our dining table or unpack it at yours. Most delivery orders arrive within 35 to 60 minutes depending on distance, traffic, and time of day. This guide covers how to order, where we deliver, and which dishes hold their texture in a delivery bag.

How Delivery Works at China Jade

Two paths reach us. The first uses a delivery app. Search for China Jade at 16805 Crabbs Branch Way, Derwood MD on the food delivery app you already use. Coverage and delivery fees vary by app. The second path is direct. Call the restaurant during open hours. We will quote a time, cook the order fresh, and set it for pickup. Direct ordering skips the third-party markup and gives you a line to the kitchen if you want to ask about substitutions or spice level.

Where We Deliver

Our location at 16805 Crabbs Branch Way sits inside Derwood, with Rockville (20850, 20851, 20852, 20853), Gaithersburg, North Bethesda, King Farm, and Shady Grove all within a short drive. Delivery range depends on the app you use. Each app sets its own radius based on courier availability and distance. Enter your address before you build your order to confirm you are in range.

If you live within fifteen minutes of the restaurant, pickup is often faster than delivery and skips the markup. See the pickup section below.

Dishes That Travel Well

Stir-fries hold their texture in a takeout container. Order these with confidence:

  • Beef with broccoli, Mongolian beef, pepper steak. Pieces large enough to survive jostling, sauces that thicken rather than thin.
  • Kung Pao Chicken. The peanuts stay crunchy and the sauce clings to the chicken. See our Kung Pao Chicken guide for what makes the dish.
  • General Tso's chicken and orange chicken. The breading holds for the first thirty minutes, less well after.
  • Mapo Tofu. Silky and stable. Pour over rice in the container and it travels fine.
  • Fried rice and lo mein. Designed to be portable. Both were street food in northern China long before they were restaurant food.
  • Pan-fried dumplings. Order with the sauce on the side to keep the bottoms from going soggy. More on guōtiē here.

Dishes Better for Pickup or Dine-In

A few dishes lose what makes them themselves on a thirty-minute drive:

  • Crispy whole fish. The skin loses its crackle by the time it reaches you.
  • Sizzling rice soup. The rice crackers come out separately and you mix them tableside. Not a delivery dish.
  • Chow mein with crisp edges, sizzling beef on noodles. The noodles soak through. Order these for the dining room. For the difference between chow mein and lo mein, see our lo mein vs chow mein guide.
  • Hot and sour soup, egg drop soup. They travel fine, but the temperature drops below where they taste best. Pickup beats delivery for soup.

How to Order Smart

A few habits keep delivery food close to dining-room quality:

  • Ask for sauce on the side when the dish has a thick or starchy sauce. Lo mein and most stir-fries are exceptions where the sauce stays with the dish.
  • Order rice in a separate container if you want to control portions and avoid the rice absorbing too much sauce in transit.
  • For a group, order one extra dish rather than larger portions of fewer. Variety travels better than volume.
  • Skip deep-fried appetizers unless you can eat them within ten minutes of arrival.
  • If you live more than thirty minutes out, lean on dishes that hold or improve as they sit (mapo tofu, twice-cooked pork, saucy stir-fries) rather than dishes that need to hit the table while still hot from the wok.

Pickup as an Alternative

If you live within fifteen minutes of the restaurant and want to skip the delivery markup, pickup is often faster and cheaper. Place the order through our order page or by phone. We will give you a ready time. Food goes from the wok to your hands within five minutes of finishing. That is the freshest path to your table short of dining in.

Delivery Hours

We accept delivery orders during regular restaurant hours: 11 AM to 9 PM daily. The kitchen takes its last delivery order about thirty minutes before close. Friday and Saturday evenings get busy from 6 PM to 8 PM. Expect delivery times to lengthen during those windows.
